What's the big deal about re-registering (rereg) when you've been suspended from Newsvine?
Let's start with a few basics. When I say "suspended" what do I mean? For various infractions in the Newsvine community a user can be suspended for a day, a week, or a month. This means that the user is not to use Newsvine until the period of suspension has expired. Suspension is a slap on the wrist for doing something that the Newsvine staff views as a violation of the Code of Honor or the Terms of Service. When you come aboard as a Newsvine user you do so under the terms of the Code of Honor and the Terms of Service. You are held to those standards whether or not you have actually read them. It's like playing baseball. If you step onto the baseball field as a player you are expected to obey the rules of the game. If you break the rules, even inadvertently, you agree to the punishment by agreeing to play the game. Even if someone provokes you into breaking the rules, perhaps by talking about your questionable parentage, you are still subject to punishment for your rules infraction.
So this is how it goes with suspension from Newsvine. You do something you're not supposed to do. A Newsvine staffer suspends you for a day, a week, or a month. You can't use your Newsvine account until the suspension has expired. But wait! I was wrongly suspended! I should be able to defend my side of things! He called my mother a whore! I need to respond! I'm just going to create another Newsvine account and use that one! Right? Wrong! Using another Newsvine account after you have been suspended is like swapping uniforms with a teammate and getting back in the game. Yes, you were suspended while wearing number 28 but you can't come back into the game wearing number 34! No. You can't. You have been suspended, not your username. You.
So what's the punishment for coming back as a rereg while you're serving a suspension. You're banned. Period. End of story. You can't swap uniforms to get back in the game to hit the game-winning homerun. You can't re-register to defend yourself, apologize, hurl insults, or whatever. It's wrong. It's against the rules. You can't do it. It's not a matter of liking you or not liking you, it's a matter of enforcing the rules. If you use another Newsvine account while you're suspended, you are banned.
If you're suspended, don't use another Newsvine account until your suspension is over. If you do, you will be banned. Is it that hard to understand?
